Hoboken set to christen the city's newest park

Hoboken officials and community activists are poised to christen the city's newest park.

The 1600 Park site, located on 16th Street between Willow and Park avenues, will formally open Tuesday afternoon with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting event. Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer and several other dignitaries are expected to attend.

The field is already striped for soccer, women and men's lacrosse, and tee-ball, instructional, and minor league baseball. And once the site is completed, it will have a dog run, viewing mound, slide hill and bleachers.
