Snowfall is expected to hit the New York-Tri State
Snow is expected to begin falling across New York City and continue through the rest of the week as a Nor'easter approaches the metro area.
National Weather Service meteorologist Joey Picca says snowfall will likely begin late tonight and continue only intermittently throughout the day. By Thursday night a second round of snowfall will begin that could leave a total of 3 to 6 inches in the New York City area.
Eastern Long Island is expected to see the worst of the weather with anywhere between 3 and 7 inches of cumulative snowfall expected. A winter weather advisory has been issued for the metro area.
