The Allman Brothers Band are in the midst of their annual run at the Beacon Theatre. This is also the date they wrapped up two nights at The Fillmore East back in 1971, and which became one of the best live albums ever recorded in New York City. Some of our favorite live recordings have happened here at places such as Carnegie Hall, Radio City, The Garden, and Central Park. What are your favorite live recordings from the Big Apple? Let us know in the comments below and we'll spin a set this morning.
Here is what we played:
1. "Here Comes the Sun" - George Harrison, The Concert For Bangladesh
2. "Sound of Silence" - Simon and Garfunkel, The Concert in Central Park
3. "You Ain't Goin Nowhere" - Mary-Chapin Carpenter, Roseanne Cash, Shawn Colvin, Bob Dylan: The 30th Anniversary Concert Collection
4. "Done Somebody Wrong" - The Allman Brothers Band, The Allman Brothers Band at Fillmore East
