Question of the Day: How Did the Band Get Their Name?

by Corny O'Connell
A A

Tonight at 9 we've got a session with the band Luscious Jackson who are making a comeback after a long hiatus. Luscious Jackson took their name from the basketball player Lucious Jackson who earned a gold medal at the 1964 Olympics and won the NBA Championship with the Philadelphia 76ers three years later. Do you know how other bands got their names? Use the comments section below to clue us in and we'll spin a set after 9am.

Here's what we played:

Death Cab For Cutie "I Will Posses Your Heart"

Three Dog Night "Never Been To Spain"

Over The Rhine "All I Ever Get For Christmas Is Blue"

Fountains Of Wayne "Hackensack"
