New Music Monday Needs Some Sun

New Music Monday is a collection of the best new releases in music each week. We share them with you every Monday, every hour on WFUV.

Mount Moriah- Miracle Temple

Miracle Temple is the sophomore album from the young, North Carolina band. We would not be surprised if these guys were the next big stars of alt-country… We might actually be a bit surprised if they’re not.

Clairy Browne & The Bangin’ Rackettes- “Love Letter”

Browne’s website says that her band’s musical home is an ex-coffin factory outside of Melbourne, Australia. If that’s true, it certainly doesn’t affect this anything-but-morbid song.

Robyn Hitchcock- Love From London

Hitchcock is turning 60 this month, but that doesn’t mean that he’s going to stop challenging his listeners. According to him, this new record ”celebrates life in a culture imperiled by economic and environmental collapse.” Intense… yet positive?

Bobby Long- Wishbone

This British singer makes quintessential American music. I guess we can give him some credibility as he probably knows more about it than us; Long wrote his university thesis on the social impact of American Folk.
