FUV Live with Shovels & Rope

by Sarah Wardrop

Shovels & Rope is one of FUV's "New Artists to Watch in 2013" and they're already having a big year, with a stop at Letterman tonight and a sold-out show at The Bowery Ballroom tomorrow. When you hear Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent stomp and swing through a live set, the duo's recent success is no surprise, so check out their album O' Be Joyful, and their 2012 FUV Live show from Electric Lady Studios — where they brought grit, horns, maybe a little whiskey, and definitely a lot of joy.

Funding for WFUV's ongoing coverage of live concerts and festivals comes from The Agnes Varis Trust, supporting affordable access to the arts, education and healthcare.
