Question Of The Day: Are You A Morning Or Night Person?

Paul here for Corny...Good Morning...or is it?

Professionally, I've been a "Morning Man" many times in my radio career. But you literally have to pay me to get up before ten on a non-work day.

Like it or not, we're all up now. So chime in with your own circadian orientation...and a morning/or/night song.

Here's what we played:

"One Fine Morning" by Lighthouse

"I Like to Sleep Late in the Morning" by David Bromberg

"Stay Up Late" by Talking Heads

"Sleepwalker" by The Kinks

"Blue, Red, and Grey" by The Who

Question of the Day 12/31/14

by Morning Show
A A

Although Mr. Hazlitt believes only 'words' last forever, on the last day of the year, we'd like to know a song released in 2014 that you think people will still be listening to in 2024, maybe even 2064. You know: A song that will really LAST. Love to hear your ideas on this one. And, we'll put together a set about 9:15.

Question of the Day

Something old? Something new? Something borrowed? Something blue?

Did you receive the gift of music this year for Christmas or Hanukkah?

If so, let me know what you received. If not, let me know a song or album you wish you'd received.

We'll put together a set after 9, on the Question of the Day.

Question of The Day: Time Capsule!?

by Morning Show

Good Friday Morning. Paul For Corny. The Weekend Is Coming, The Weekend Is Coming!

A time capsule planted by none other than American patriots Paul Revere and Sam Adams in 1795 has turned up in an excavation at The Massachusetts State House in Boston.

Got me thinking--what 2014 items should we stow away in a modern time capsule of our own? A metro card? A SIM card? A bottle opener to crack open a celebratory bottle of Sam (gee they named a beer after me) Adams?

Let's do the time warp together. Here's what we played:

World Party - "Put the Message in the Box"

The Police - "Message in a Bottle"

Matthew Sweet - "Time Capsule"

The Chambers Brothers - "Time Has Come Today"

Question of the Day: What's Your Second Act?

by Morning Show

Good morning, Paul for Corny on this Monday....like....a... (ugh) Grindstone Cowboy....

Speaking of which....for Question Of The Day--

What's your Second Act?

Ever quit, change career, move onwards and upwards in a dramatic and unexpected way?!

Name some songs of growth, change...and share a bold move that worked for you.

My inspiration for this QOD is Kathleen Edwards, who stepped away from her music career to open a coffee shop in Ontario. Called Quitters Coffee, it's not a twelve step program for caffeine fiends...it's a reset for an artist who bravely self-intervened before creative burnout pummeled her into coffee grounds.

Here's what we played:

"Change the Sheets" - Kathleen Edwards

"I Can Change" - LCD Soundsystem

"(Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman" - The Kinks

"Ballad of a Thin Man" - Bob Dylan
