About to ride a wave of discovery and excitement out onto a national tour, Brooklyn's The Lone Bellow squeezed one last WFUV show into their schedule at Manhattan's City Winery. We've been there from the beginning, watching their fans multiply with each show and each spin on the radio.
You'll instantly hear what makes this band so interesting -- a rare combination of raw talent, passion and great songs. Zach, Brian and Kanene are joined by a rhythm section for a wonderfully rich set that draws mostly from their recently released debut album. John Prine's "Angel From Montgomery" gets The Lone Bellow's power harmony treatment as part of their set, and we all get to hear a new, unreleased song.
The show came to a close with a rocking version of "The One You Should've Let Go," leaving everyone in the room exhilarated, satisfied and sweaty!
Funding for WFUV's ongoing coverage of live concerts and festivals comes from The Agnes Varis Trust, supporting affordable access to the arts, education and healthcare.
