Westchester native David Bromberg returned to Clearwater this year with his Big Band. These ace players gave a fantastic performance, thrilling fans with genre-crossing songs from the new album Only Slightly Mad – the first credited to the David Bromberg Band in over 34 years. This was a relatively quick follow-up to the legendary guitarist/multi-instrumentalist’s 2007 Grammy-winning collaborative album, Use Me, which marked his return after over three decades, having unexpectedly dropped out of the business of recording and performing in the early '80s to focus on a violin building and repair business. Today’s raucous and spirited performance only served to reinforce fans’ loyalty and their pleasure that he is back, and it was a great introduction to this legendary player for new fans.
