Mom + Pop Music

There is an exciting new sound rising above the musical clamor in Brooklyn: the vivid, playful pop of the band Lucius. Like a burst of multi-colored sunshine, the songs on Wildewoman, the debut album from Lucius, explode with bright, modern-day girl group vocals, propulsive and primal rhythms, and brash melodies.

Lucius - CMJ Showcase - 2013

by WFUV Staff

Kicking off FUV Live at CMJ with a warm, effusive set that fit perfectly with the waning afternoon sun, Lucius were in a celebratory mood, marking the release day of their debut album, Wildewoman. Although they began with a sweetly mellifluous cover of the Beatles' "Free As A Bird," the balance of Lucius' eight-song set was pulled from their new album and their 2012 self-titled EP.

TAS on WFUV Report: Lucius

by Alisa Ali
Shervin Lainez

Alisa Ali checkin in with Eric Holland today on WFUV for the TAS Report. Normally Russ Borris would be doing the TAS Report but he's away at SXSW, so I figued I'd step in. & Speaking of SXSW, one of the bands that I would definitely be checkin out if I were there is Lucius. They are a 5 piece from Brooklyn & they make really fun pop music. It's not too sugary sweet; I think it's just right. They've got an updated girl group sound that is undeniable catchy.
