WFUV CD Of The Week: Josh Ritter

by Carmel Holt

Anyone who has been in love, and has endured the pain of a breakup knows there is beauty and hope in heartbreak. Josh Ritter says of his new album, The Beast In Its Tracks, “When it came time to put these songs on a record, I had thought it was a record about divorce, but it really was a record about what happens after." There is plenty of beauty and hope here, and with his incredible talent for song craft, Josh Ritter delivers a moving and honest look at the process of love found, lost, and found again.

Josh Ritter - Words and Music - 2013

by Russ Borris

A painful divorce didn't hinder Josh Ritter's need to create. In fact, in the darkest hours, his songwriting propelled him through. The resulting album is called The Beast In Its Tracks—and it's not the downer you might expect. There is humor, grace and wisdom mixed in with the view of tough times, and in Josh's latest visit to Studio A, he shared some acoustic trio versions of the new tunes.

The Highline Sessions at Del Posto II - Live Concert - 2013

by Rita Houston

I often say that I major in music with a minor in food, so putting together "The Highline Sessions at Del Posto" with restaurateur, winemaker and FUV Member, Joe Bastianich, has been a labor of love to say the least. The series is a benefit for FUV and a benefit to the ears and taste buds of everyone in the room. In the latest show, Joe and his band The Ramps performed as part of a line-up with John Pizzarelli, Gaetano Valic, The Lone Bellow and Josh Ritter. Listen to highlights here.

Josh Ritter - Too Cute Video

by George Evans

This may have been shared before, but it's just too cute not to mention again!  I can't tell you how much I enjoy Josh Ritter's new EP Bringing In The Darlings.  Firstly, the whole EP is strung along with every song mentioning the work "darling."  Secondly, the song, "Love Is Making It's Way Back Home" is cute just by itself.  As if that wasn't enough, the video just adds so much to the song, I have to post the video.  Enjoy the cuteness.

Josh Ritter - Words and Music - 2011

by John Platt
Josh Ritter's literary flair as a songwriter now extends into book form with his debut novel, 'Bright's Passage,' but don't worry -- he hasn't abandoned music. With his guitar in tow, Josh stopped by FUV to talk with host John Platt about his busy year of hitting the road as a performer and an author. [recorded: 12/12/11]
