Johnny Flynn

Johnny Flynn - FUV Live - 2013

by Alisa Ali

London folk troubadour Johnny Flynn is no stranger to WFUV. He first visited us in 2008 with Laura Marling, and then again in 2010 for his album, Been Listening. This year, Johnny made his way back to Studio A to share songs from his latest release, Country Mile. Lyrically, the new songs are vivid and poetically written, which pairs beautifully with his guitar playing — as you can hear during this FUV Live session.

Johnny Flynn & Laura Marling

by Darren DeVivo

Johnny Flynn has roots in blues and British folk and just released his album A Larum. Laura Marling earned a Mercury Prize nomination for her CD Alas, I Cannot Swim. Two up-and-coming UK singer-songwriters, two debut albums, and one shared visit to WFUV for an interview with host Darren DeVivo.

Johnny Flynn - Words and Music - 2010

by Claudia Marshall
London folksinger Johnny Flynn and his band The Sussex Wit's new album Been Listening, is out now. It has a broader scope than their 2008 debut A Larum, with Spanish and African influences, strings, and a horn session. Johnny joined WFUV's Claudia Marshall for a conversation and solo performance of a few songs from the album. (11/16/10)
